Calcium acetate

Calcium acetate is the acetate salt of calcium, white to brown or grey crystals with a peculiar smell. The common name for calcium acetate is calcium acetate. Anhydrous calcium acetate is very hygroscopic, so it is common to find calcium acetate in the form of Ca(CH3COO)2.H2O monohydrate. Calcium acetate decomposes above 160°C. calcium carbonate are produced; it reacts sharply with strong acids, producing acetic acid fumes.
Uses:

1. Calcium acetate is used in the production of acetic acid, polyester industry, but also used in the synthesis of acetate;

2. It can be used as analytical reagent

3. Used as food stabilizer, chelating agent, mould inhibitor, buffer, aroma enhancer, corrosion inhibitor;

4. Calcium acetate is a good calcium fortifier for food, with better absorption than inorganic calcium. It can be used in baby food.

Storage:
Stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place in airtight condition, not to be mixed with toxic chemicals for transport and storage.
